Thank you for the well wishes!  My last newsletter was quite fun to write.  The wedding was a bit of a whim — not the getting married part, but the timing of now vs. later.  We ended up having a very small ceremony this year, with the promise of a bigger celebration in 2014.  So if you were expecting an invite, rest assured we still love you!
Married life is wonderful so far, although it involves a lot of driving. Â We’re maintaining two households until we can put mine on the market and get a place together. Â Given the list of things to paint and fix, plus the upcoming busy season, we aren’t likely to be in new digs until early next year. Â We’re crossing our fingers that the perfect home is waiting for us! Â In the meantime, we’re spending a lot of time on realty sites and daydreaming.
The most exciting part of the dream is a new studio!  I am quickly outgrowing my current space, so the timing couldn’t be better.  We were originally looking for a property with an outbuilding, but then priced building our own.  Since we’re near Amish country, we discovered we could get a customized Amish-built barn for about the cost of a garage, and much less hassle than renovating and heating an existing space.  Add words like “gambrel”, “cupola”, and “carriage doors”, and I swooon.  (Want a bit of eye candy?  Search “barn studio” on Pinterest and watch the hours melt away.)
Of course this is all wishful thinking until we break ground, and there is much work to be done. Â Stay tuned for more info! Â We are putting together plans for a huge open house/ open studio event around the holidays. Â In the meantime, enjoy October’s barn-inspired art card, and have a great week :)
